The concept for the current series of paintings came from one of my favorite non-fiction works in literature - "the Log of the Sea of Cortez", by John Steinbeck & Edward F. Ricketts. In this book, the two authors discuss a concept they developed which could be called "Non-teleological Thought", a kind of non-cause & effect holistic view of the world & Universe. Things simply the way they are.
How this relates to my paintings is simple: the ideas manifest themselves independently and therefore do not have a "history" as such, yet do of course relate to autobiographical aspects of my life, but only where present reality is concerned, that is, things as they are presently, with past & future included, naturally. All part of the journey, as it progresses, and the multi-faceted, modulating aspects grooving along, like the music this all is.
