Karl Krogstad
"New Paintings"

I am honored once again to show new paintings at the greatest little
gallery anywhere! Gallery 63 Eleven
If it's Christmas, it's Krogstad. I love this tradition.
Part of my painting process is to enjoy it, and I have found more
satisfaction in 2005 than in any previous year. I think I have enjoyed
painting more this time around because I've concentrated more time on
using acrylic paint. Yet as always the more exciting works are still my
inks and pastels. When I do the pastels I work in the dark and I always
stand. When you can't truly see what you are doing surprises always
take over. When I work in acrylic I am bathed in light and I usually
sit. The combination of these two styles has once again produced a
terrific blend of vibrancy.
